Our gloriest India was one of the richest countries with gold, treasures and natural resources, and it attracted many countries. They came to India and ruled us, We all worked for them as slaves. We did not have freedom then. Bristishers ruled our country for 200 years and then we got freedom.
Our freedom fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh , V. O. Chidambaram Pillai , Vallabhbhai Patel , B. R. Ambedkar , Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and many more fought and gave their lives for this freedom. It was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi who followed a non violence campaign for India’s Independence and he was successful. August 15, 1947 midnight was the night to cherish forever. The long-awaited agreement ended 200 years of British rule and we became independent India. We have heard a lot of stories from our grandparents about how August 15th was celebrated. There were fireworks , Temples, churches, and Mosque were filled with people offering prayers, people gathered everywhere and exchanged sweets, they hugged each other and congratulated. The 12feet by 8 feet pure silk flag was hoisted after lowering the British Union Jack on August 15, 1947 at 5.05 AM at Fort St George and was witnessed by thousands of people. These stories still give us goosebumps.
As proud citizens of India each one of us have the responsibility to serve our country and respect all our countrymen. We should all keep our country clean, we should plant more trees. We should love one another, We should love our Hindu, Christian, Muslim brothers and sisters whole heartedly. Let peace and harmony prevail.
BabyOrgano wishes you all a happy and peaceful Independence day!
